There is a group protesting at City Hall advocating for a reduction to police funding and re-allocation of those funds to housing. They have been camped out on the forecourt of City Hall since November 23rd, and have promised not to leave until their demands have been met.
Regardless of your standpoint on the issue of defunding the police, we must find common ground on how groups are treated and this To The Point is inspired by a post by editor of Raise the Hammer, Ryan McGreal.
Here is some food for thought from Ryan:
“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his paycheque depends on his not understanding it.”
Upton Sinclair
These brave souls, some who have struggled with housing themselves, are advocating for housing for all.
Let’s keep it peaceful, by leaving the police out of this discussion. They are a lobbyist in this conversation.
Thank you to everyone standing up for those who are unable to stand up for themselves.

And that’s The Point
