It wasn’t a mistake that these articles ended up in Raise the Hammer. I asked Ryan McGreal, its editor, if he would publish them not only because of the longer format but because I think that independent media in Hamilton are important. They need to have a bigger role to play in disseminating information to Hamiltonians and helping us all to stay connected to what’s happening in our city. We simply can’t continue to rely solely on Hamilton’s established mainstream media if we want a different and better Hamilton.
